John D Wibberley Cycle Art - Original "Mountain Bike" Print Lithograph Size: 22" x 32" John Daniel Wibberley was born in Auburn, California on the 5th of August, 1956. Wibberley has been an artist most of his life. He discovered a passion for art in high school at the age of 15. His creativity was endless and quite prolific which forced him to unusual methods in turn, influenced this series of art. After his first bicycle painting in 1972, Wibberley’s painting led to a fascination with the bicycle as a subject for his acrylic and watercolor paintings. By isolating different elements of the body of the bicycle and using a pallet of bright colors to paint the silhouette, he creates a very pleasing surrealism. After high school, he went on to study art and fine art at Columbia Jr. College and Sierra College in California. In 1982 Wibberley published, produced and distributed his first art print.
